A new New Yorker designer is set to open a fashion boutique on the British Isles with plans to expand into Europe and the US.
The designer, who is also known as Tasha, is the first to be revealed as a high-profile designer to join the likes of Ralph Lauren, Dior, Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang as a member of the High End Group.
The High End group is a new venture that has been formed by designer Dermot O’Leary and fashion entrepreneur, Peter Schatz.
Tasha O’Shaughnessy, who has worked with Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Marc Rothmans and more, is to open her first London-based boutique in January 2018, it was announced at the Cannes fashion show.
The company will have a range of traditional and contemporary pieces and a “modern twist”, it added.
Tash, who was born in the UK and grew up in London, has been working in the fashion industry for almost four decades, and is best known for her work with Marc and Alexander.
Tanya Wertheim/TashaO’Shaugnessy told the Times of London newspaper that the launch was a “huge honour”.
“I’ve worked with designers who were in the High Street for a long time and have grown up with the High Floor, and this is such an opportunity to get to know people from across the world,” she said.
“It’s going to be a really exciting time.”
A spokeswoman for High End said that the group’s goal is to bring a “world-class boutique” to London, with a focus on quality, design and craftsmanship.
The new company will be part of a “new wave” of high-end boutique companies, said a statement.
“We’re going to do things a bit differently and we want to deliver a high standard of service,” it added, without giving further details.
“It’s been my experience that people have a lot of passion for fashion and a very high level of expectations for what we can do.
That’s why we’re going for something that reflects that passion.”
The company, which will have offices in London and Edinburgh, is set for launch in January.
It is a rare celebrity to take up the reins of a high end fashion brand.
In 2014, Marc and Alex Wang were appointed the High-End Group’s trustees, and were followed by Ralph Lauren in 2016, who stepped down in 2019.
The group has been a major player in the London fashion scene, with many high-quality designers and brands operating in the city.
